News Flash: Lawyers Bad at Predicting Results of Their Cases

Interesting article - apparently we laywers are not very good about predicting the results of our cases!

The reason, apparently is that we tend to be biased towards our own chances.  And, apparently, more experienced lawyers are no better at predicting results than less experienced.

I suppose I'm not entirely surprised - the biggest verdict I ever worked on was a case I was sure we'd get dinged on because our client was an obnoxious pot-head with huge pre-existing injuries.  Who would have predicted a $1.5 million verdict?  Only the pot-head - not me....
