Dave Lorenzo of Rainmaker Lawyer has kindly provided us with a great video on how to evaluate, from a solid business perspective, whether your marketing is working or not. All too often lawyers either jump into marketing unawares or avoid it because they do not know what to look for. Either way, one is missing the boat form a business sense. Dave Lorenzo identifies the three basic numbers, metrics, that you need to evaluate: 1) client lifetime value, 2) return on investment of marketing, and 3) client acquisition costs. He explains how you determine those numbers and how you use them to do a business analysis of your marketing. If you have an handle on those three numbers, you can quickly evaluate what is working and what isn't. You can target your marketing for best results saving you money, and even more importantly, time. Here is Dave's video: - Peter H. Berge
