What are your clients saying or thinking about your practice? We all like to believe that we understand our clients, but who among us can say we know for sure? Do your clients call you because they don’t know who else to call? How would you rate your client’s loyalty? How deeply do your clients believe that you truly care about the service they receive from your firm? These can be deeply troubling questions —especially if you are uncertain of the answers. One way to discover the answers to these and other critical questions about your clients is to ask them. Begin by inviting a few of your best clients to participate in a Client Advisory Board. This board, which may meet up to 3 times per year, can provide you with a process that allows you to ask clients to share their perspectives on the services they receive from your firm. You can gain valuable insight on the concerns the person seated across the table from you is likely to have! Find out what they like and what they do not like. Get their suggestions on where they would like to see changes made. Find out about issues that you may be unaware of. Let them provide you with advice on how to get more referrals and grow your practice. It is an amazing process to watch clients become more and more engaged as they are given the opportunity to make an impact on your business success.
Benefits to using an advisory board include:
The insights you gain will make you wish you had started this process years ago!
