Microsofts Office 365 went into public beta today.  It signals a shift to even more cloud computing, according to Information Week.

According to Microsoft, over 100,000 public beta testers will be using and testing the new service of online Office services: Exchange (email, calendar, and contacts), SharePoint (document sharing and team collaboration) and Lync (instant messaging, videoconferencing, and meeting).

I certainly see more cloud computing as the potent force in the future, even for lawyers.  The tools are getting more and more powerful and the ease of access to them, via our constant connection to The Internet with computers, smartphones and tablets.  Office 365 seems a logical extension of the Office platform and will only drive those changes faster.

For more on Office 365, check Microsofts site.  You can even join the Beta!
