Offline Gmail - Redux

I wasn't thinking of the passing of John Updike when I thought of the title, but it certainly hit me once i wrote it.  Perhaps sadness at the passing of such a true man of letters - and artist of letters - was what bubbled up from the unconscious.  "Letters" have changed now and though paper, the original database, shall never die, it is the electronic form that more runs our lives these days.

Of the electronic letters, I had previously posted of Google's introduction of off-line capabilities to Gmail.  Others have been chiming in on the subject and generally to the positive.  If you are using Gmail, and it is an excellent email provider even if you might not want to use it as your "business card address," you may want to look at the further comment:
