As I was speculating from rumors yesterday, Apple did announce today that it will be making the iWork into an on-line application. It sounds like there will be tight integration with the desktop version but that one can allow other users to collaborate via the Web.
This suggests to me that the on-line version will have all the features of the desktop version which should make it considerably better than Google Docs as an on-line collaboration tool. I've used Google Docs for collaboration on projects with good success. It always felt a bit, well, Beta-ish. I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on iWork over the Web. http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/06/apple-announces-iwork-com-beta/ UPDATE: Just looking at the Apple.com website. It is touting iWork.com as both Mac and PC compatible - sharing between iWork, MS Office, and PDF, and document management for shared documents. - Peter H. Berge
