Microsoft No Longer Supporting Some Versions of Windows

WindowsI suspect there are still a number of you running Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Vista without service packs.  It's time to upgrade because Microsoft is no longer supporting XP SP2.

Both operating systems will still keep working fine but you are on your own for security.  No matter how bad the security issue, Microsoft will not be issuing patches any more.

First off, you may be wondering what version of the operating system and which service packs you have installed.  You need to look at the "About Windows" page.  Click Start/Run/winver to pull up the window.  Microsoft has instructions on how to do that

Your best best is to update your Service Packs, you will then have the most current version (and safest) of the operating system and you will get updates for the immediate future.  Here are instructions and links to update Windows XP to Service Pac 3.  And here to update Vista.
