People often ask me which scanner to get. There are a lot of options out there, but I still think the best option is the Fujitsu ScanSnap S510 (or S510M if you are a Mac user). They are fast, reliable, and awesome. Plus, the $400 scanner comes with a copy of Adobe Acrobat Standard worth $300. Pretty fantastic deal.
If you want “the best,” get a more expensive Fujitsu scanner with ultrasonic dual-feed detection and all that stuff. If you want a reliable scanner and don’t want to spend a ton of money, get an S510.
(For the few Linux users out there, my S500 works great with Ubuntu.)
