Epson R280 Photo Printer On Sale

As long as we are talking about photos in the law office today with the discount on Photoshop Elements, you might want to think about a printer.  It happens that Epson is having a sale on their very fine R280 printer.

You have two choices here.  You can get 30% off a brand-spanking new Epson R280 at $69.99 or a refurbished Epson R280 for a mere $55.00.

The R280 is an excellent photo printer.  It uses the Epson Claria ink system (Epson does have an even higher end ink system, UltraChrome K3, but Claria is plenty good for producing lush photos) using six separate ink cartridges.  Printing on photo paper (like Epson's Luster or my favorite Museo) you get a truly professional quality photo.  You can, frankly, produce a better product that a photo store because you have so much more control using a program like Photoshop Elements and the Epson printer.  Whether for a demand letter or preparing photo evidence, this printer will give you quality results and can print up to an 8.5 x 11 print.

As more and more information in cases is digital, you will likely find yourself in the position of creating DVDs or CD-ROM in discovery or preparing demand.  The R280 has an attachment that allows you to print directly on inkjet printable CDs and DVDs.  You get a vastly more professional looking product than just scribbling on the disc with a Sharpie®.

It also prints text just fine and fairly speedily at 38 pages per minute.  I have to say, however, it feels like riding a racehorse to go get groceries.  This printer really was made to print high quality professional resolution pictures in beautiful color!

As with any inkjet printer, (or razors & blades...) the profit for the manufacturer is not in the hardware but the ink.  Cartridges can be purchased individually for $12.99 or $19.99 for regular or high capacity respectively.  A complete set will set you back $64.99 for the regular capacity or $89.99 for the high capacity.

30% off a brand-spanking new Epson R280 at $69.99 or a refurbished Epson R280 for a mere $55.00 and the refurbished model is being offered with free shipping even.  If you are thinking even bigger, Epson also has a deal on the refurbished R2800 for $599.  It uses the UntraChrome K3 ink system and a wider carriage so it can print up to photos up to 13" wide (13x19 format).
